Welcome to RoSPA Advanced Drivers & Riders
South West Group
Remember - you may one day save a life - it could be yours.
We are a group of volunteers based in the Yeovil area, but also covering Shepton Mallet, Chard, Crewkerne, Dorchester and Sherborne.

Our purpose is to provide driver training to advanced test level. We are an independant organisation operating under the auspices of, and within the guidelines set by, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

'The aim of the Advanced Drivers & Riders Organisation of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoADAR) is to encourage interest in road safety, to improve driving / riding standards and thus to enable drivers / riders to pass the RoADAR's advanced test.' - (RoSPA, RoADAR, 2007)

The tuition we provide is based on the Police System of Car Control and is indended to raise the candidate's driving standard to Advanced Test level; we do this by holding a course of four lectures every year and by allocating an observer to each candidate who will accompany the candidate on the road and offer advice and tuition.

All that is required to take advantage of this course is to join the RoSPA South West Group at an initial cost of £10 as an Associate Member. This entitles you to the course of lectures and as much on road tuition as is needed.

It may also be of benifit to buy a copy of the Roadcraft manual, which we can supply at a discounted price of £10 (RRP £13.95)
